GSF USA, a leading building services contractor with multiple locations throughout the Midwest, is committed to providing innovative cleaning solutions alongside its green cleaning initiatives. One of their key offerings includes daytime cleaning, which enhances energy efficiency and overall cleanliness. In Illinois, GSF has secured a contract with the Valley View School District 365U to manage cleaning services at Bolingbrook High School, located approximately 30 miles west of Chicago and serving around 3,500 students. Bolingbrook High School stands as one of the largest high schools in the United States, encompassing a vast 470,000 square feet of space.
Cleaning such an extensive facility presents a significant challenge for GSF, which employs a staff of 24 workers. In light of the increased focus on thorough cleaning since the onset of the pandemic, GSF recognized the difficulty its employees would face in maintaining day-to-day cleaning while also undertaking additional hygiene measures, such as electrostatic disinfection. The school’s administration was clear in its expectations for a higher standard of cleanliness. “How can we clean a building and make a noticeable difference in what the standard is? Anyone can run a floor scrubber, but can we improve on other aspects of the building?” questioned Grant Mackall, GSF’s operational asset manager.
To meet the demanding cleaning requirements at Bolingbrook High School, GSF invested in a T7AMR Robotic Floor Scrubber from Tennant. This robotic solution is designed to operate safely and efficiently alongside human staff, thereby enhancing overall productivity.
GSF has a history of using Tennant equipment and values the company’s commitment to innovative cleaning technologies. The implementation of the T7AMR at the high school allows GSF to optimize operational efficiency, enabling employees to focus on tasks that require a human touch. “At GSF, we are all about pursuing new ideas that help advance the cleaning process,” Mackall stated. “We conducted some research and quickly saw that other schools using these machines were achieving the expected benefits.” This partnership exemplifies GSF’s dedication to improving cleaning standards and ensuring a healthier environment for students and staff alike.
