Dreame’s X40 Ultra: Revolutionizing Home Cleaning with Robot Arm Technology

by Miah

ST. LOUIS, MO – With the rise of smart home technology, the demand for advanced robot vacuum cleaners has surged. One standout model is Dreame’s X40 Ultra, which offers a sophisticated combination of features that not only clean floors but do so with a level of precision and efficiency that’s reshaping the expectations of home cleaning.

A key innovation of the X40 Ultra is its robotic arm technology. Unlike traditional models, which only mop in a straight line, the X40 Ultra extends a wet mop pad up to 4 cm, allowing for a more thorough cleaning process. The mop is designed to rotate and swing, enhancing the coverage and effectiveness of each sweep. The mop is also cleaned with hot water at 70°C, and if it detects high levels of dirt, it can wash itself before continuing the cleaning process, ensuring a more hygienic outcome.

The X40 Ultra uses advanced sensors, including an RGB camera and a laser distance sensor (LDS), to map the cleaning area and navigate obstacles effectively. Over multiple cleaning sessions, the robot builds an increasingly accurate map of your home, avoiding common hurdles like socks and power cords while calculating the best cleaning path. Though initially, it struggled with thresholds above 2.2 cm, it adapted quickly once a no-entry zone was set.

With an impressive suction power of 12,000 pascal, the X40 Ultra has strong cleaning capabilities, allowing it to effectively remove dust without needing to run a separate vacuum. Its motorized side brush ensures that corners and edges are properly cleaned, addressing a common issue with other robot vacuums.

Beyond the hardware, Dreame has equipped the X40 Ultra with a 3.2L dustbin that can hold up to 75 days’ worth of dirt, significantly reducing the frequency with which the bin needs to be emptied. Furthermore, the robot’s mop pad dries at temperatures of up to 45°C, helping prevent odor and bacterial growth.

Despite the cutting-edge technology, one potential hurdle for consumers is the price. The X40 Ultra was originally priced at 1.79 million won, but ahead of the Lunar New Year, it will be available at a discounted price of 1.09 million won via e-commerce platforms, offering more affordability compared to other market leaders like Roborock, Samsung, and LG.

For those intrigued by the concept of robots revolutionizing household tasks, Dreame’s future offerings, including the X50 series, which is set to introduce “robot feet,” promise to take automation even further. As the home appliance market continues to embrace AI and robotics, products like the X40 Ultra are paving the way for the future of intelligent, hands-free cleaning.
