British vacuum cleaner manufacturer Dyson has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung Electronics’ new vacuum cleaner.
Bloomberg reported that Dyson claimed that Samsung Electronics’ high-end vacuum cleaner “Motion Sync” launched in June this year infringed its “adjustment technology” patent and filed a lawsuit in the British court at the end of last month.
Samsung Electronics is strengthening its high-end home appliance marketing, so whether this lawsuit will have an impact on its global business strategy has attracted attention.
Adjustment technology is a technology that keeps the vacuum cleaner body balanced by moving the wheels and the body separately.
Recently, at the International Consumer Electronics Fair (IFA) in Berlin, Germany, Dyson CEO Max (sound) said in an interview with some Korean media: “Samsung Electronics’ recently launched vacuum cleaner Motion Sync infringed Dyson’s patent and has filed an infringement lawsuit with the British High Court.”
” Dyson believes that Samsung Electronics has completely misappropriated Dyson’s cylinder vacuum cleaner device made using “ball” technology instead of the two wheels that are usually used.
In addition, Dyson also called Samsung Electronics’ “Motion Sync” a “rip-off”.
Regarding Dyson’s lawsuit, Samsung Electronics said, “We are considering the content of the lawsuit and will use all possible means to launch a legal response.”
“A person related to Samsung Electronics said, “Samsung Electronics manufactured the Motion Sync vacuum cleaner using the technology and design obtained after one year of research and development (R&D).
Therefore, it can respond to any patent lawsuit.
