Recently, the Yunjing sweeping robot has become the focus of many consumer complaints. Many consumers have said that the Yunjing sweeping robot they bought broke down shortly after the warranty period. What is even more unsatisfactory is that the after-sales service of Yunjing Intelligent Innovation (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yunjing Company) is suspected of having “overbearing terms”, which makes consumers deeply troubled.
According to news reports, Ms. Mo from Shenzhen is one of the victims. The Yunjing sweeping robot she bought for more than 4,000 yuan in 2022 suddenly failed to charge in early 2025. When Ms. Mo contacted Yunjing customer service for help, she was told that she needed to send the robot back to the manufacturer for testing and repair it at her own expense. What made Ms. Mo even more dissatisfied was that Yunjing customer service did not provide any information about repair costs, shipping costs and accessories quotes before sending it back, which made her feel like she was opening a “blind box” and could not predict the costs she would have to bear.
Ms. Mo’s experience is not an isolated case. On social media, there are nearly 100 posts about Yunjing sweeping robots “breaking down after warranty”, and many consumers have complained about Yunjing’s after-sales service. They said that shortly after the warranty period, the sweeping robots had various faults, and after sending them back to the manufacturer for inspection, it often costs hundreds of yuan to repair them. Some consumers even pointed out that their robots had not been used for many times, but they were told that important parts such as radar were damaged, which was unacceptable.
In addition to the opaque repair costs, consumers also questioned Yunjing’s testing process. Some consumers said that they could not judge whether the robots they sent back were really repaired, nor could they confirm whether the replaced parts really existed. This information asymmetry made consumers feel helpless and made them seriously doubt Yunjing’s credibility.
In the face of consumers’ complaints and doubts, Yunjing did not give a positive response. According to Zhijian News, the customer service only briefly introduced the after-sales service process and did not explain the high failure rate of “breaking down after warranty”. This evasive attitude undoubtedly exacerbated consumers’ dissatisfaction and concerns.
The lawyer pointed out that according to relevant laws and regulations, operators must clearly mark prices and cannot charge extra fees. Yunjing Company did not clearly inform users of the possible repair costs before sending back the faulty products, which has been suspected of violating the regulations on clearly marking prices. Consumers have the right to know the specific costs before repairs, otherwise it can be regarded as opaque prices. If a dispute over costs has already occurred, consumers can resolve it through complaints or legal means.
The problem of Yunjing sweeping robots “breaking down after the warranty period” has attracted widespread attention. Consumers hope that Yunjing Company can face up to the problem, actively respond to consumers’ complaints and doubts, improve after-sales service processes, and improve product quality and credibility. At the same time, regulatory authorities should also strengthen supervision of similar issues to protect consumers’ legitimate rights and interests from infringement.
